Do 1 Thing partners up with the Lansing Board of Water and Light through the BWL's support of Do 1 Thing
In the past year or so, Do 1 Thing has gained new board members and support from the Lansing Board of Water and Light. They have been supporting us in getting the word out through the monthly connections newsletter that goes out to all of there customers.
They purchased and distributed calendars locally, they joined our board, have given in-kind donations, and finally have supported us via the monthly newsletter that they send out, Connections. We would like to thank Bob Perialis, the Chief Customer Officer at the Lansing Board of Water and Light, Lansing Board of Water and Light Commissioner Dennis Louney, and finally Trent Atkins, the Director of Emergency Management for the Lansing Board of Water and Light. All of them having given in-kind time and resources to Do 1 Thing. Without the Board of Water and Light we would not have been able to recently print our Do 1 Thing Business Book that we needed for the Michigan Safety Conference. This donation alone equaled $900.00 worth of business books. They also host our meetings and are active board members.
“We are happy to support Do1Thing in developing community resilience through preparedness, said Trent Atkins Director of Emergency Management for the Board of Water and Light.” Each of these members have made a impact and we love to have our Hometown Board of Water and Light support us, as Do 1 Thing was founded here in Lansing in 2006. Visit our about us page to learn more about all of them http://do1thing.com/about
"Personally having had the wonderful past opportunity to work for Trent Atkins, I consider Do 1 Thing to have grown since he became supportive of us. In 2009 I meet him, when I started working out of the Lansing Office of Emergency Management. He was the Chief of Emergency Management at the Lansing Fire Department, and working for him was a true honor. Trent has not only supported the program, but myself professionally and he continues to today, said Erika Mahoney, Do 1 Thing's Executive Director."
Thank you again to the Lansing Board of Water and Light and we look forward to continuing to work on future projects together. Below is Bob Perialis and Erika Mahoney working together at the Delta Fire Prevention Open House, October 9, 2014 to promote being prepared.
